Restrepo Meta City Park

Better known as “Parque Central de Restrepo,” this is the town’s central square, known for a twin-spired cathedral which lights up at night, festival activities, small food stalls and public artworks. The space is a central gathering point for the town community.

Las Malocas – Catama Park

Found slightly to the East of nearby Villavicencio, this park is a themed-art park filled with narrow walking paths leading past colorful and outlandish figures. The artifacts, exhibits and activities are themed around the mythical stories from the region, along with preserved “towns” and “farms” to demonstrate how people lived in the area in the past. There are figures riding pigs, crow-like humanoids, large instruments, blue-haired statues and flaming demons.

Fundadores Park

This is a public park in Villavicencio, filled with small plaza spaces and many cartoonish statues and regal sculptures. The space is excellent to visit during the holidays, as much of the park is well-decorated with lights and props.

Cascada Blanca

For those willing to brave the lush mountains to the north of Restrepo, there are countless rivers leading to swimming streams, waterfalls and blue lagoons. Cascada Blanca is an especially large and impressive waterfall with other natural features nearby.

Skog Å Kust Watertight Day Bag

Everyone should have a day bag. My favorite is the Skog Å Kust Watertight Bag. It’s easy to sling over my shoulders and lets me walk without fear of m devices getting damaged in the rain. Better yet, I can go swimming with electronics whenever I need to.
