Intro to LeftFade Trails

Hello and welcome to LeftFade Trails. My name is Old Sean, an author and world traveler with over a decade of wandering experience.

This website is a lifestyle-travel blog about planet Earth.  The guides and articles located here are for people who wish to see the world. Additionally, there are guides on staying safe and healthy abroad, info on finding interesting and compelling things to do and techniques for fully enjoying adventures.

Also, I’ve written down my personal experiences and follies, both of which I’ve collected in droves. This website is also home to many stories and firsthand experiences, along with direct points of interests regarding places I’ve personally visited.

I sincerely hope the advice here aids you on your journey.

Best regards and excellent trails.

About Old Sean

Old Sean grew up in the United States Mid-and-Southwest, deeply immersed in teetering mounds of books about dinosaurs, natural wonders, and heaps of National Geographic Magazines.

This hoard of literature buoyed him through solid chunks of school, until he received his first car, a silver, gravel-beaten F150. With distance no longer an inhibiting factor, Old Sean began exploring his homeland with a wildly uninformed thirst for adventure. This semi-travel lifestyle, which cultivated most of his weekends, continued through a university career with several trips abroad when feasible.

Further Abroad

After graduating University, Old Sean obtained his TEFL teaching license in Chicago. Next, he migrated across the world to begin working as an English Teacher in Chongqing, China. Afterward, Old Sean was able to began further explorations of Asia in earnest.

A year later, Old Sean was offered a new position writing travel brochures for tourists in Europe. Old Sean became enamored with the vagabond lifestyle. Gradually, he fell in love with the shifts and novelties the wider world had to offer. At the end of his contract, Old Sean dedicated himself to working online as a digital nomad to make his transient lifestyle permanent.

The Creation of LeftFade Trails

As the years continued, Old Sean refined travel techniques for saving money. Through trial and error, he learned how to travel safely while making connections with the wider nomadic and expat communities of Earth. His various experiences were recorded in a free blog site, which eventually evolved into LeftFade Trails.

It was at this point, Old Sean chose to share his knowledge, travel philosophies and methods of personal exploration. While consistently publishing his regular travels, he also began compiling advice for the wider world. Now, these experiences and insights are designed to make travel safer, cheaper and better for those looking to embark on their own adventures.

Current Updates

At this point, the adventure continues. Recently, the lands of South America, North Africa, Southeast Asia, Mainland Europe, various island nations, Central and North America and Australia have all been scuffed by Old Sean’s boots. Now, many more places, sights, sounds and experiences continue to be perused and sought after. Charred maggots have been eaten, mountains have been climbed, turtles have been helped, languages have been fumbled through, odd jobs have been completed and experiences in life simply continue to expand.

Finally, be welcome once more to LeftFadeTrails, the culmination of wanderlust made available to share a passion for the wider world.

Best regards and excellent trails,

Sincerely,

Old Sean
