Dogo Park

Once the hilltop home to Yuzuki Castle, this grassy park is now home to a cherry trees and hilltop views. The Yuzuki Castle Ruins are located here.

Dōgo Onsen

This is a famous building in Matsuyama and is one of the oldest hot spring in Japan. The main attraction is the Dogo Onsen Honkan, a wooden public bathhouse, constructed in 1894.

Bansuisō

Built in the early 1900s, this is a stunning French -styled mansion with free access to some of the exhibits on the first floor. The building was constructed by descendants of the Matsuyama clan, Hisamatsu Sadakotu. The mansion is quite beautiful and is situated on peaceful grounds in the center of the city.

Okaido Shopping Arcade

This is a huge shopping arcade found in the center of Matsuyama. The covered shopping complex includes department stores, shops and diverse restaurants.

Botchan Karakuri Clock

This is a large, colorful clock found near the Dogo Onsen Station. The clock looks especially beautiful at night, as it glows and mechanically unfolds, providing a fully musical, clockwork performance. The show runs every hour between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Matsuyama Oranges

Matsuyama is known as Japan’s leading producer of citrus, giving it the name “The Citrus Kingdom.” Various orange-based treats and goods can be found throughout the city, along with varieties of mandarin oranges, such as iyokan, beni-madonna, and setoka.

Matsuyama Castle

This is a beautiful castle and National Historic Site in Matsuyama. Built in 1603, this is one of last twelve surviving castle towers built during or prior the Edo period.

Isaniwa Shrine

This is a vital historical and cultural Shinto shrine with enshrined imperials Emperor Chūai, Empress Jingū, and Emperor Ōjin.
