Union Square

Also known as Dome Square, this is the oldest public square in the city. It was named in honor of the Romanian troops who entered Timișoara on 3 August 1919, firmly placing the city under Romanian rule.

This is a large shopping mall with mixed-functions, including office, retail and entertainment sections within.

Timisoara Orthodox Cathedral

This iconic and soaring Neo-Moldavian Romanian Orthodox Cathedral is home to an ornate historical art gallery and several relics. This includes ancient scripts, rare tomes, Orthodox cemetery gravestones, vintage paintings, stylized crosses and traditional lanterns.

Victory Square

This square is one of the most scenic in Timișoara, surrounded by Baroque-era mansions, art nouveau palaces & a grand Orthodox cathedral with cobbled paths and flower beds in the center.

This is the second-oldest square in Timișoara. the square is extremely scenic, with patterned black-and-red brickwork, ornate towering monuments, beautiful buildings, low benches and several small sculptures.

Rose Park

Previously known as the Rosarium or Ștefan Plavăț Park of Culture and Leisure, this is a garden-walking space following the Bega River. The landscaping of the park allows for low flower beds, impressive rose gardens and wooden canopies.

Banat Village Museum

This is an outdoor, open-air ethnographic museum with numerous recreations of wooden buildings, huts and shelters common to farmers and countrymen living in Romanian territory.

Corvin Castle (Day Trip)

Otherwise known as Hunyadi Castle or Hunedoara Castle, this is a massive Gothic-Renaissance structure with impressively bright roofs, formidable spires, as tone bridge and gorgeous surrounding scenery. The castle is often mentioned as a source of inspiration for Bram Stoker’s famous horror novel, Dracula.

This museum contains a collection of items specifically showcasing communist goods and lifestyles found within Romania during the reign of Communism.
