Located within an hill’s upper dip, these earthworks use optical illusions created by a laying alter in the middle of a green crater. This unique design allows visitors to lay down with their heads tilted back, making it seem like the sky above is curved and receding.

De Pier

The large boardwalk and entertainment pier accented by a huge Ferris Wheel overlooking the water. This is a popular venue for it’s arcade, interior restaurants and large spiral viewing point overlooking the beach and ocean.

Scheveningen Beach

Stretching along the coast of the Hague, this area can be easily reached on foot from the city. The area includes a wonderful, clean beach with quaint beach houses with large balconies and white trim overlooking the ocean. Low sand dunes further accent the splendid scene.

The Mauritshuis Museum

An art museum in the Dutch Classicist style besides a expansive lake.  The museum houses over 800 Dutch pieces of art and is considered a important bastion of national identity and culture.

Lange Voorhout

This is peaceful double street in the old city center with large, arching trees following the walkways. It is considered a beautiful walking area with several nice shops and restaurants.

The Peace Palace (Vredespaleis)

This is a gorgeous building on a green field which hosts the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration and other seats of government. The Palace is a beautiful, vital building responsible for many decisions regarding international courts, decisions, summits and agreements.

Stadsboerderij ‘t Waaygat

This is a small park area located in the city. The park is unique for hosting various, very calm farm animals. Children can often be seen enjoying the playground area while lingering close to the various creatures in the peaceful green space.

Scheveningse Bosjes

This is a large forested park full of winding walking trails, small playgrounds and several clusters of sculptural monuments. The park is central to the city, allowing access to various canals, small forests, quiet city districts and more. The beach is fairly close by and some trails extend towards the ocean.

Haagse Bos

This is a rectangular neighborhood and forest found in the Haagse Hout District of The Hague. The green, forested area touches the old city center to the south-west boarder of Wassenaar, a quaint town area to the north. The area is also home to some of the oldest intact forests of The Netherlands.

Museum Voorlinden

A beautiful contemporary art museum located just north of the Hague. The museum spaces include beautiful landscapes and sculpture garden areas.

The Royal Delft

This still-operational building is a 17th-century earthenware factory dedicated to making beautiful products. The factory is home to neat gardens, a functional museum and numerous guided tours. The patterned porcelain and blue-white bowls are interesting to look at, as are the various sculptures painted in a similar style.

Louwman Museum

For automobile enthusiasts, there are few museums more compelling. The Louwman Museum is home to the world’s oldest private car collection, with some exhibits dating back to the 19th century. Classic vehicles, restored combustion engines, ornate swan-vehicles and more are all preserved here.
