Unique Points of Interest in Mérida Mexico

An Overview of Mérida

Known as the “White City” in reference to the white-stone buildings found along Paseo Montejo, Mérida is the vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán, with a rich Mayan and colonial heritage. The city’s focal point is the Plaza de la Independencia, bordered by the fortress-like Mérida Cathedral and white limestone Iglesia de la Tercera Orden. Both are colonial-era churches built using relics from ancient Mayan temples. With ancient temples, crumbling ruins, numerous cenotes, colorful streets and many museums, there are many unique points of interest in Mérida.

GoPro Hero9 Black

The GoPro Hero Black is my go to Action camera. I’m not comfortable bringing my cell phone to many wet and rugged locations, so the GoPro does most of my photographic heavy-lifting. The only things I bring in my GoPro kit are the camera, a spare battery and the forehead mount. I upgrade my GoPro once every two years. It was particularly excellent to have during my aquatic tour of Belize.
