Personal Safety While Traveling

Having a sense of personal safety while traveling is vital. One of the major deterrents to travel is fear of the unknown.

For many, it halts the journey before it begins and convinces them that the world outside their home is one of strife.

However, this narrative is incorrect. In reality, the world is full of people who are helpful, gentle and enamored with their own dreams and goals.

There’s still risk in the world and in whatever we do with our lives. But it can be anticipated and avoided.

Listed below are various articles designed for travel safety, digital protection and personal wellbeing. Crucially, these articles focus on informing and developing personal safety habits.

Best regards and excellent trails,

Old Sean Thoughts

“Looking back, I wouldn’t want the world to be perfectly safe. Having a semblance of risk is what makes reality true and adventure palpable.

In St. Louis, I was punched in the face at a bus station. While in Sri Lanka, I ended up locked outside while latched onto a moving vehicle. In China, I was so hopelessly lost, Russian expats needed to put me up for an evening. And in Germany, I completely ran out of all money and was forced to get creative.

But in the end, I survived each time. And while luck was a factor, it wasn’t the deciding one. Instead, it was habits, preparations and responses that kept me swerving and capable.

I still adhere to a nomadic travel lifestyle. And the risk has diminished even further thanks to experience and confidence that I can handle whatever arises.

To date, I’ve found there is nothing on Earth more capable than a human.

Best regards and excellent trails,”
